Woman wants to abort her child because of Michael Jackson’s death
Of all the idiotic explanations for wanting an abortion, this one takes the cake. Seriously, you have to question people’s sanity for the poor logic / reasons they offer to kill their unborn children. And this one tops the lot.
Now, I am taking this with a grain salt (a lot of salt, actually, conducive to medical problems) – I doubt the post is actually true, but you never can be sure of people’s craziness nowadays, and that makes it all the more scarier… Continue reading ...
Quote: God doesn’t promise Christians an end to their troubles
When a man turns to Christ and seems to be getting on pretty well … he often feels that it would now be natural if things went fairly smoothly. When troubles come along – illness, money troubles, new kinds of temptations – he is disappointed. These things, he feels, might have been necessary to rouse him and make him repent in his bad old days; but why now? Yet more WordPress upgrade troubles, v2.8
Seems since I upgraded Wordpress to v2.8 on the last day or so that things have gone a little whacky on my blog again. Why do I have such rotten luck with WP upgrades?!

Gideons International came under fire last month in Texas after parents learned that the Christian organisation was permitted by Frisco Independent Schools to distribute pocket bibles at public schools within its district. The move was viewed by some parents as a breach of trust by the school board and complaints were lodged shortly after it became apparent that the Gideons were allowed to setup a display table on school grounds. Bibles and other biblical materials were left on the tables, free for students to browse at their leisure – there was no canvassing by Gideon staff. The choice was always given the student, without harassment.
I had just started high school (age 12) when I first heard of the Gideons. I… Continue reading ...
Carrie Prejean: beauty queen ursurped
No sooner than a month after Donald Trump, owner of the Miss USA Organization, declared that Carrie Prejean would retain her crown as Miss California, Ms Prejean last week had her crown wrested away from her – with the blessing of Mr Trump.
There is no doubt that the majority of the gay and lesbian community would have celebrated the issuance of the pinkslip to Ms Prejean following her comments in support of opposite-sex marriage in last April’s Miss USA beauty pageant. At the pageant, Ms Prejean fielded a question from gay celebrity personality Perez Hilton on what she thought about gay marriage; her response, though far from eloquent, was simple, respectful and to the point: she believes… Continue reading ...
