Woman arrested for attempted murder for failed abortion

Here’s some more No Shortage of Crazy:

Q. If a woman desires (and is permitted by law) to terminate her pregnancy, under what circumstances is she not allowed to?

A. In a culture which says that abortions are permitted by law when the mother does not desire the child, doesn’t it then seem contradictory to state that the mother cannot induce a termination of her own accord?

In most States in the US and increasingly in the UK and in Australia, abortions can be solicited for any reason, even if the pregnancy is desired by the father – the mother’s decision vetoes that of her husband’s/partner’s.

Recently, an Iowanian woman was arrested for attempt of murder… Continue reading ...

Mother who didn’t want an abortion elects to have the abortion …

… at least, after reading the story in The Weekend Australian, that is the only logical conclusion that can be drawn from the seemingly conflicting details provided of a married couple in Queensland who, with a difficult pregnancy and because abortion remains illegal in that State, were advised to procure an abortion elsewhere.

I want to make three main distinctions in this post: 1) how the journalist angles this painful story as rhetoric to garner support for the decriminalisation of abortion in the State of Queensland; 2) the lie that the married couple in question bought into, that abortion was the right thing for them, as painful a decision though it be; 3) both the first two items genuinely acknowledge the grief and pain of the decision the couple… Continue reading ...

How dare those pro-lifers get in the way of free speech!

After jumping through all obstacles with Canadian McGill University officials and the campus Student Union, event organisers were able to schedule, advertise to students and hold on campus a presentation addressing the issue of abortion. However, the event shortly went pear-shaped when, no sooner had the host introduced the guest speaker, and barely had the speaker an opportunity to complete his opening sentence, that a group of rowdy pro-life protesters disrupted the presentation.

Though small in number, these pro-lifers swore at the guest speaker and proceeded to hijack the event, gathering in voice and breaking into renditions of children’s songs for almost two hours until such a time as University officials closed the event down as the building required to locked for the evening. In the lead up to… Continue reading ...

Woman wants to abort her child because of Michael Jackson’s death

mj craziness

Of all the idiotic explanations for wanting an abortion, this one takes the cake. Seriously, you have to question people’s sanity for the poor logic / reasons they offer to kill their unborn children. And this one tops the lot.

Now, I am taking this with a grain salt (a lot of salt, actually, conducive to medical problems) – I doubt the post is actually true, but you never can be sure of people’s craziness nowadays, and that makes it all the more scarier… Continue reading ...

Person-in-da-hood: How pro-choicers have moved the goal posts

When medical science (most notably, that of DNA strings) decisively and unequivocally demonstrated that, right from the very point of conception, a human life is created, pro-choicers had to abort their more traditional arguments. It is interesting to read in his book, Practical Ethics, that ethicist, animal rights activist and pro-abortionist Peter Singer declared that the conservative pro-life position on the subject of abortion came up trumps. It is no longer an argument about potency – that the fertilised egg had the potential to become a human being – it was proven that from the instant human sperm penetrates a human egg that nothing other than a human being is produced.

In his book, Mr Singer admits that pro-lifers have the upper hand – to abort a child at… Continue reading ...
